The series »short circuits« depictures exclusively cables, plugs and pins. Through the growing rate of electronic equipment that is now a daily part of life more and more cables and plugs have become necessary. Meanwhile these objects are mostly hated because of their attribute of always lying around, collecting dust and hinder to close the doors proper I started to become fascinated by their forms and nature.

In »short circuits« I depict cable and plugs in their geometrical beauty but without any background. However there is still a perspective in the images, room and space are erased out of the picture. Taking a close look at some of the pictures you realize that some of the connections do not make sense and electronically they would cause a short circuit. Therefore the cables develop some sort of an own life and become organic structures.
